Violence Reaps Violence in the Middle East

Israeli troops disregarded a cease-fire agreement that has been in effect for 6 days and plunged further into Lebanon yesterday, engaging in fierce battles with the Hezbollah forces. The raid is reminiscent of a previous violation of a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas that occurred in the aftermath of the Palestinian elections, when Hamas was overwhelmingly ushered into political leadership. At that time there was a cease-fire agreement that had been holding for more than a year. Israeli forces in June 2006 killed civilians traveling in their vehicles and others recreating along a stretch of beach (see timeline on the left).

The Israeli government called the incidents unfortunate and “regrettable.” The Palestinian cries to the UN fell on deaf ears and the western powers ignored the pleas of the Palestinian people to condemn the Israeli attacks. The subsequent kidnappings of the Israeli soldiers by both Hamas and Hezbollah were announced ahead of those events occurring and came as retaliatory attacks that the media has continued to characterize as the initiation of the war between Israel and Lebanon.

The massive civilian casualties sustained by Lebanon has also been overlooked by the U.S., which attempts to hide the numerous atrocities occurring in its war in Iraq, where stolen monies, secret prisons, torture chambers, rape, murder and civil war are all products of the presence of the U.S. for more than 15 years.

The U.S. and Israel cannot have it both ways. The two nations cannot condemn one act of violence while sanctioning another of a similar nature. Israel always has a reason why it resorts to violence. But so does its enemies.

In the case of this breach of an agreement, Israel maintains it is trying to halt supply shipments to the Hezbollah forces. If Israel will resort to violence each and every time its enemies seek to bolster armaments, it will remain perpetually at war. And it will undermine any effort to find a peaceful compromise to the horrific mess of lies, distortions, treachery and deceit engaged in by Great Britain and the U.S. in the years leading up to the formation of Israel in 1948. Those lies, distortions of truth and outright deceit and treachery are the core causes of the current conflicts ongoing between Israel and the Arabs nations.

President Harry Truman and vice president Alben Barkley’s role in coercing the British to renege on their promises to the Arabs enabled a massive influx of European Jews to move to the Holy Lands in the aftermath of WWII, while the U.S. government and its leaders in the White House and congress raised billions of dollars for European Jews to move into Palestine and simultaneously ignored the plight of black Americans here at home.

My book provides the analysis of that very situation from the perspective of TIME Magazine in 1952.

Today, many people argue over the facts of that era. But those facts were not in dispute during the time period in which it occurred.

There is a reason why the Arabs regard Israel as a U.S.-created state. And there is a reason why Christians aren’t represented in the Knesset (Israel’s congress), while secular socialists and communists are. America’s zeal for supporting anything Israel has caused it to fall into a blind loyalty to hypocrisy.

Today Christians support a secular enemy in the government of the U.S., that has waged war with God for the control of American society. That same enemy lies to Christians and galvanizes our support for illicit, illegal and immoral activities overseas. Meanwhile, the Christians in Israel also find themselves treated badly by a secular government that disregards the authority of God.

These are tough statements that may seem to be quite provocative and the result of conjecture and opinion. But that is why I have painstakingly detailed the historical involvement of the United States in the Middle East.

Americans deserve to know the truth. And Christians who believe wholeheartedly in the truth would do well to open our eyes, ears, minds and heart to the truth, rather than continue to shut the door on it today as the innkeeper shut the door on Mary and Joseph. There has to be room in America for the Truth.
